Birds of the Night: An Evening Birding Walk with Chuck Otte

CANCELLED - due to unforeseen circumstances, this program has been cancelled.  Look for a similar program in Spring 2018.

Saturday, September 23, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Join Geary County Extension Agent Chuck Otte from K-State Research and Extension on a two hour "walk and talk" to learn about the birds that thrive on twilight right here in the Flint Hills. We will meet at Wildcat Park located west of Manhattan. Please bring your sense of adventure, binoculars if you have them, good walking shoes, and a flashlight.  We will be listening for nightjars and owls.

Participants meet at Wildcat Park on West Anderson near Keats, KS.  Participants will be expected to respect the nature of the program by keeping voices to a low volume and no sudden movements. For this reason, we ask that parents use best judgment in determining youth attendance.

Preregister online here, by phone at 785.587.2726 or in person at the Flint Hills Discovery Center.

Youth and Adult FHDC Members: $3  |  Youth and Adult Non-members: $4
