Family Outdoor Adventure Night

Saturday, September 24, 4:00 - 9 p.m.

Get your dose of outdoor fun with an evening around the campfire at Family Outdoor Adventure Night at Wildcat County Park! Enjoy storytelling, games, archery, owl encounters, crafts, and more. Everyone will get to “build” their own foil dinner and choose the contents from a buffet style line of ingredients. There will be chicken, potatoes, carrots, onions, broccoli, mushrooms, squash, and a couple of sauces folks can add.

Event takes place offsite. Please meet at the Wildcat County Park parking lot on West 62nd Ave. Pre-registration is required by September 23. Dinner entree included in price. Please bring flashlights and bug spray.

Family Exploration Day

Saturday, October 15, 9:00 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Join the Flint Hills Discovery Center and Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department for a morning of family fun and nature exploration at our newest natural area, the Park at Lee Mill Heights. Drop in and try out a geocaching bingo/scavenger hunt, using GPS to locate hidden items.  Bring your own GPS or borrow from us!  Kids and Adults can explore the landscape looking for plants, animals, and other exciting things!  All participants are automatically entered into a drawing for fun prizes after a picnic lunch that will be served at 11:30 a.m.

No registration is required and there is no cost to participate.  Meet at the Park at Lee Mill Heights, Loma Ridge Drive entrance.
