Brewers and Bootleggers: A Night of History and Hooch
Saturday, November 12, 6:30-9 p.m.
Travel back in time to experience the Flint Hills like never before! The night begins with a series of unique dishes, each based on a historic recipe and representing a different era or community in the Flint Hills. Wash down your meal with samples of historic recipe beer and period cocktails. During dinner, you’ll also be treated to the sounds of Daniel Dissmore and The Jazz Ambassadors, a K-State student jazz ensemble
The evening ends with a special presentation from historian Isaias McCaffery titled "Foam on the Range." His talk explores how immigrant communities in Kansas clashed with early temperance movements, forcing ethnic communities to break the law in order to preserve an important expression of cultural identity
Fee includes dinner, two drink tickets, and presentation. Cash bar also available. Ages 21+ only.
