Astronomy Viewing Nights

Friday, June 2 & Friday, July 14, 9-11pm
Peer into the stars at this free public-viewing event on the Flint Hills Discovery Center terrace. We welcome K-State Professor Chris Sorensen who will lead us in viewing the moon, Jupiter, Saturn and the stars through 8” reflecting and 4” refracting telescopes. Chris will also point out major stars and summer constellations. Guests are welcome to bring their own telescopes. This is an all-ages event. No registration is required.

To learn more about the upcoming total solar eclipse occurring August 21, join us for a free Go See It! lecture August 17 where Chris will discuss what eclipses are, what to expect to see in the path of totality, where and when they occur and how to prepare to view them. Learn more here.
